Resting Up Again...

Once again, my chemo session has forced me to take time to rest this weekend...hopefully session #2 will be kinder to my body and spirit. I will stay positive and hope for the best...and follow my doctor's orders explicitly this time...fingers crossed.

Spring will Come...

As another snow storm threatens to keep us snowed in this weekend I am reminded that it is almost March....can Spring be that far behind?? I am sick of these dull, grey days and in search of sunshine with all it's tangerine orange, golden yellows and turquoise blue skies..bring it!!

The Connoisseur By Norman Rockwell

The Pint Size Picasso students became part of their artwork today...we took photos of them, asking them to pretend that there was a modern art painting in front of them that they may not totally understand. The resulting artwork came out pretty awesome!!

Hello Sunshine

Well, I have not posted in about a week...this chemo stuff hit me like a train. I landed in the hospital for a couple of days as my white blood cells dropped extremely low and I could not fight of an infection..but I am home now and doing so much better...the sun is shining and I am happy to be breathing in the cold invigorating air...life is good (once again)!!!

And now it's Time to Focus on Something Besides Art..

I had to take a break from our art classes today and focus on myself...but it went pretty well and hopefully I will be back in time for my next art session on Monday...I do hate to miss out on the creative energy of these kids..so for now I will just have to put my artwork and thoughts into my ipad art...positive energy...fighting on...

Engine #5 in Gold...

"I Saw Engine #5 in Gold" by Charles DeMuth...we worked on this many layered, painted paper project today. The students really got into it once I explained the premise behind the painting. The fire engines came roaring off the black paper with their headlight ablazing...loved these results!
